Oi!

Here are some photos of Al Pacas in Machu Picchu. My guide informed me that these animals are the pets of the ruins.  They must be comfortable with people, for they did not move at all when crowds circled around them. Al Pacas look similar to lamas, for that matter they actually could be lamas. I did not look further into what they were actaully I just snaped some random photos of them because they were cute. Typical no?

As I arrived at Machu Picchu I felt calm. A mass this huge ancient ruin were tall mountains and bright blue skies. The ruins were divided into several areas some reaching further back from the entrance.

My tour guide told me that it took several days to see everything! I had only four hours. So I was only allowed to see the front of some of the ruins and also the arena or outside theater. Some nobles’ homes and a few areas of structural nature; blocks stacked, a stone eagle, and a stone clock.

My tour guide started at a wall where hand carved blocks were stacked and bound by its perfect configurment and nothing more. It was really interesting because these blocks were huge and united together as if it were fused to do so.

The stone eagle was beautiful. Large structure that was maybe 20 feet in length and maybe 15 feet in width. Its front area faced the arena and its wings spread out towards the homes of the nobles. The eagle was created by nature not by man.

Machu Picchu was used as a vacation home for the more wealthy Peruvians. So their homes were a bit larger. Parents had separate rooms from the living space and kitchen, which was a privilege. Those that were royal had much larger stone homes perched on higher elevation. These more noble homes overlooked the rest of the village.

The arena was used for sporting activites, political speeches, and theatrics. The tour guide asked me to yell towards the arena to prove the natural surround system. The arena was maybe 2 1/2 the size of a US football field.

It was time to go, I was so happy to see the ruins its beautiful natural structure, green mountains, and its timelessness. When I’m gone, it will still be there and when my children and gone, it still remains.

I did not want to miss anything during my train ride to Machu Pichu, so I was on alert the whole time. It was a beautiful ride in the morning. I saw rocky waters, green hills, ruins, and snowy mountains. It was pleasant.

I woke up at five in the morning to meet the 7 a.m. deadline time for my train trip to Cuzco, Peru. Where I’d take a tour bus to the mountains of Machu Pichu.

For those that know me, I love to travel around the world but despise the actual aspect of travel. From car, to bus, to train, to boat, to plane, and even motor bikes. You see, I have severe motion sickness – which is a serious condition- that brings me such sufferring when I use most modes of transportation it almost makes me want to stay home.

Anyways, I had to take a tour bus to the train station and a four hour train ride to Cuzco.

Then I arriveed at Cuzco to take another tour bus to the ruins. I almost wished I did the two day hike or was it longer.
